Ok so let me fill you in with my antics this week!! On Monday the weather was lovely to I hit beach with Rachel. It was such a lovely day! She was very prepared, bringing with her her Ukelele, an adult colouring book (very popular out here now!), some cards and pencils etc etc – everything you could need for a successful beach day!! After plenty of catching up, she started playing her Ukelele and ended up playing “Do you want to build a snowman?” from Frozen!! Haha! After talking about a particular Tinder story, we ended up dedicating a solid hour of our time writing a song based on Tinder to the tune of the snowman song haha! Yes it sounds pretty lame I know….but in actual fact we did a pretty good job of it! We matched the syllable count and added quirky Tinder related phrases like…”It gets a little lonely….without a match..” and “I swiped right” haha!! I mightttttt put the full song up here if I can be bothered to type it all up at some point 😛
Anyway after the song writing, came some adult colouring. She had some print outs that spoke about the mental benefits of colouring and the different mood levels etc – interesting stuff! I actually found it very relaxing, I may well have to invest in an adult colouring book for myself!!!
Eventually we headed to a pub for a beautiful glass of Pimms and Lemonade – yes that’s right, real English ladies in the Aussie summer!! The lady behind the bar was from Brighton and quickly realised we weren’t locals so said she would make us “real English Pimms and Lemonade” – she did a very good job! 😀
I have recently obtained quite the obsession with wheetbix, banana and honey lately, so I ended up having it for breakfast and dinner on Monday haha! It wasn’t just me however, Ryan joined me in a wheetbix dinner feast! 😛
So I have had some more freelance come in this week, this time an editing job from Angela, so Tueday and wednesday was all about work work workkkk really! I have however become addicted to watching Swamp People which I told you about last week haha! So in between my editing (and sometimes whilst editing) I have been watching that with Tony! Haha. We have watched so many now we comment on everything they do! ha! Tank was off on Wednesday so I got to see him which was nice as he is almost always working!! We popped out to the shops together for a break from the house and to pick up a few bits and pieces…we ended up buying sushi as usual for me!! haha!
Having finished my job by Wednesday evening, Thursday was a much more chilled out day! Unfortunately it was rubbish weather so I just stayed home and watched tele etc. In the evening however I of course went swimming! I met Brittany to go with as well 🙂 I managed 40 lengths of the 25m pool today so building myself back up slowly! Then of course it was sauna time! Thursday night sauna theme nights were back on! Tonight was a dollar shop theme – Macca brought glow sticks and party hats haha. I felt really ill after the sauna and almost passed out so stayed out of there after that and just went into the spa so Macca and co came to there instead. We went to Soda Rock Cafe after our swim – Macca drove brittany and I in his amazing classic car!! It had limited seat belts, a big thin steering wheel and even a pull up tray along the back of the front seats to put drinks and food on haha!! There were lots of us at Soda Rock this time actually and we had wigs, hats, glowsticks the lot! Haha! We even danced with the waitors/waitresses for the song that they do each night 😛 A lot of fun! Macca dropped us home and I came home to home-made meatballs and pasta from Ryan – not bad for a Thursday night eh!
Friday was another chilled day really. I went to the shops with Tony to pick up drinks after he proclaimed he wanted “get drunk all day” haha! I went for a run first however then started having some wine! Linus popped round and joined us for a drink of two too! I cooked an epic chilli con carne for dinner for myself, Ryan and Tony – my speciality of course! 😀 After dinner we got ready and went to the city to meet Jannis and his friends at Asian Beer Cafe. At first I thought it was going to be a bit of an average night but it actually ended up being heaps of fun! At one point Tony and Jannis ended up having an arm wrestle and it went on for ages! It got so intense that people started shouting and chanting and half the beer garden were stood around watching haha! The security guard even came over to keep watch that it didn’t get out of hand ha!! Eventually we moved on to other places. There were LOTS of us there, we got there with just 3 of us and left with like 15 or more of us haha! We had so many countries covered between us – England, Ireland, Sweden, America, France, Germany…to name a few- I’ve probably forgotten a few others too!! Craziness!! Loads of fun!! Kade came and met up with us too which was nice and brought another country to the table, being from New Zealand! Ha!
By the end of the night Ryan had wandered off and Tony refused to leave because he was “waiting for him” but I knew he would just go home so I got a cab home then told Tony when I found Ryan so he would come home too! haha!! Gotta love drunk people! 😛 Kade and I did get to catch an awesomeeeee busker playing such great music! The police even agreed to let him play one last song before he had to stop for the night! For just a moment I completely forgot I was in the middle of the city on a Friday night surrounded by drunk people! Haha 🙂
Well today is Saturday and I had a new freelance job come in so I had that to work on! I worked slowly and steadily until the late afternoon when Brittany and Linus came over for a couple of hours. We of course watched Swamp People haha and had a catch up which was nice 🙂 I have since been doing some more work to finish off my night with! My parents land in Melbourne tonight which is very exciting so tomorrow I begin a 3 week holiday with them! I will try to update you all after each place we visit as we will be travelling up the coast 🙂
Catch y’all for city number 1 – MELBOURNE! 😀
