(Ex. 39:42)<\/p>\n<p>The Ramban (Nachmanides, 1194\u20131270, Spain) asked:\u00a0 Why do we need the extra word \u2014 \u201cwork\u201d at the end of the sentence?\u00a0 It is possible that it is meant to emphasise the fact that none of the work of the tabernacle was done by bringing artisans from other nations of the world (foreign workers).\u00a0 All the work was done by the children of Israel.<\/p>\n<p>In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with hiring foreign workers.\u00a0 But I do think there is a special pride that comes from completing an important task yourself.\u00a0 We value the work and the final product much more when the work is done by our own hands.<\/p>\n<p>Shabbat Shalom,<\/p>\n<p>Rabbi Paul Arberman<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shabbat comes in 5.43pm: goes out 6.47pm\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In Parshat Pekudei we read the verse:\u00a0 \u201cJust as the LORD had commanded Moses, so the Israelites had done all the work.
