{"id":2118,"date":"2015-06-03T09:19:31","date_gmt":"2015-06-03T09:19:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hayleyroosphotography.co.uk\/mosaic\/?p=2118"},"modified":"2015-06-05T17:31:53","modified_gmt":"2015-06-05T17:31:53","slug":"shabbat-56-may-2015-parasha-behalotecha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hayleyroosphotography.co.uk\/mosaic\/services\/this-shabbat\/shabbat-56-may-2015-parasha-behalotecha\/","title":{"rendered":"SHABBAT 5\/6 JUNE 2015 : PARASHA BEHALOTECHA"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><em>Shabbat starts at 8.58 pm and ends at 10.18 pm<\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><em>Mazal tov to<\/em>\u00a0Mosaic Reform member, Brandon Graft, on his\u00a0<em>Bar Mitzvah<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Brandon\u2019s family is delighted to invite the congregation to join them for\u00a0<em>Kiddush at Bessborough Road,\u00a0<\/em>after the service to celebrate this special occasion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>_________________________________________________________________________________<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>When we take the Torah from the Ark we recite verses that appear in this week\u2019s portion<\/div>\n<div>Behalotecha.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWhen the Ark was to begin journeying, Moshe would say, \u2018Arise, Adonai; may Your enemies be scattered, and may Your foes flee before you.\u2019 And when it came to rest, [Moshe] would say, \u2018Return, Adonai, You who are the myriads of thousands of Israel\u2019.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>(Num 10:35-36)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Former Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks notes that this passage is \u201cA description of the Ark during the journeys of the Israelites in the Wilderness. The verse \u2018When it came to rest\u2019 is recited when the Torah is returned to the Ark.
