font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt;\">\n<p><em>Mazal tov <\/em>to HWPS members, Janet &amp; Alan Solomon, on their Golden Wedding Anniversary.\u00a0 They\u2019re delighted to invite congregants to join them for <em>Kiddush <\/em>to celebrate this special occasion.<\/p>\n<p>There will always be the more and less privileged in any society.\u00a0 The upper-class always has access to better health care, better education and better vacation spots. \u00a0 There will always be a secretary or administrative assistant who types the letters and answers the phone for that person in the corner office.\u00a0 And there will always be a janitor or cleaning person who will come each evening and to empty the trash and vacuum that corner office.\u00a0 \u00a0 There is no such thing as a truly classless society. \u00a0 We can only aspire to equal opportunities.\u00a0 \u00a0 And we can teach that all people have equal access to God.<\/p>\n<p>Parshat Vayikra speaks of sin offerings of the different classes in society.\u00a0 If a political or religious leader sins, he brings one kind of more expensive sacrifice.\u00a0 The ordinary person brings a sheep or goat.\u00a0 But what if he or she cannot afford an animal?\u00a0 Then he or she can bring birds, pigeons or turtledoves.\u00a0 But what if he or she cannot afford a bird?\u00a0 Then they can bring a flour offering.\u00a0 All people from every class have an equal opportunity to \u201creturn\u201d to God.\u00a0 The expensive sacrifice is not better than the inexpensive one. \u00a0 All people are equal in God&#8217;s eyes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shabbat Shalom,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rabbi Paul Arberman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shabbat comes in at 5.49pm &amp;
