Mosaic Liberal Synagogue (formerly HWPS) \u00a0is affiliated to Liberal Judaism.\u00a0 Liberal Judaism reverences Jewish tradition, and seeks to preserve the values of the Judaism of the past while giving them contemporary force. It aspires to a Judaism that is always an active force for good in the lives of Jewish individuals, families and communities today, and equally makes its contribution to the betterment of society. \u00a0Liberal Judaism believes in equiliniality – that is, a child is Jewish whether the mother OR father is Jewish as long as s\/he is raised and educated in the Jewish traditions.<\/p>\n
In 2011 Harrow &\u00a0Wembley Progressive Synagogue\u00a0moved\u00a0to Bessborough Road to share premises with Middlesex New Synagogue (now Mosaic Reform) where we have a lovely dedicated sanctuary on the first floor and administration offices on the ground\u00a0flo![\"Denmark](\"https:\/\/hayleyroosphotography.co.uk\/mosaic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Denmark-2014-06-700x458.png\")

Services are held each Shabbat (Friday evenings\u00a0at 7.00pm and\u00a0Saturday\u00a0mornings\u00a0at\u00a011.00am), and we celebrate all the Festivals and hold a Communal Seder on second night Passover.\u00a0Our prayer book with its modern liturgy is called Siddur Lev Chadash<\/i>, which means, literally, \u201cService of the New Heart\u201d. This prayer book was introduced nearly sixteen years ago and our former Rabbi, Dr Charles H. Middleburgh, was the associate editor. The services are\u00a0led by the Rabbi in Hebrew and English, and all are welcome\u00a0to join in with the reading and singing. ional choir enables us to pray with sincerity, spirituality\u00a0and warmth.\u00a0Our services are quite short and avoid repetition\u00a0and are conducted\u00a0with\u00a0order and decorum \u2013 less buzz, more focus!<\/p>\n
We engage with our members through many different projects and programmes and join with them in their journey through all life cycle events \u2013 both joyous and sad. \u00a0We welcome members from every strand of Judaism\u00a0as well as their non-Jewish partners.\u00a0\u00a0Jews previously unaffiliated to any synagogue will find with us a warm spiritual home.<\/p>\n
Membership fees include burial or cremation and Liberal Judaism now also offers woodland burial and mixed faith burial allowing a non-Jewish partner to be buried together with their Jewish partner.<\/p>\n
Mosaic Liberal is a\u00a0founder member, together with HEMS and Mosaic Reform,\u00a0of the Mosaic Jewish Community which brings three progressive Congregations together to share many aspects of Communal life such as Religion School, Adult Education and social activities. \u00a0Mosaic Liberal\u00a0has evolved over the last 68 years and we will continue to do so in co-operation with our friends from Mosaic Masorti (HEMS) and Mosaic Reform.![\"harrowlogo\"](\"https:\/\/hayleyroosphotography.co.uk\/mosaic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/harrowlogo.gif\")
