So tonight I won the award for best entry in the Photography 18-22 age category of the Nottingham Young Creative Awards 2011. The brief was all to do with music and this is the image I submitted which won the award.

This work is about the world music takes you to. The space in your head that only you can be in. Inspiration for this work came from being with the model (my boyfriend). Whenever he puts his ipod on it’s like no one else is there. It got me thinking about how music can take you to a place away from reality. This to me is what music really is: an escape, a mood changer. It takes you somewhere only you can see and feel.
