Vanity and beauty consumes many women’s lives, but we cannot be surprised with the exposure to beauty that each woman is faced with on a daily basis: films, televisions, magazines, peer pressure, the list goes on. It’s no wonder women create a vision of themselves in their heads always wishing to be seen as beautiful.

The use of retouching in today’s image-conscious world reinforces the idea that being flawless is key and leaves most women striving for perfect skin.

This work is an ongoing project exploring the individual sitters’ beauty ideals, whilst illustrating this repetitive opinion in which all sitters requested, “Airbrush my skin.”
